Monitor's duties

Basically, the monitor opens the Lab during the assigned period, either from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., or from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Once your name is on the list, you may pick up the keys at the Member Services Desk in exchange for your SCA ID card.

The lights are turned on, the printers are turned on and folks usually start coming in. The monitor will scan the person’s SCA ID card at either the computer at the front of the classroom, or if you are assigned a session during a class period, the scanner is on a computer in the Lab room.

You will provide a person requesting membership a form, review the completed form for accuracy, and place it with the membership fee in a locked drawer in the anteroom to the right of the classroom near the rear.

Near the end of the assigned period, announce to everyone that the open lab session will end at “X” time. Turn off the printers, shoo everyone out the door, turn off the lights, and turn the keys in at the Member Services Desk and pick up your SCA ID card.

The Monitory Coordinator will brief you on some of the items that I may have forgotten in this note.

There is additional information in the Policy & Procedures Manual.
